that was after the drive stopped trying to run. at one point, testdisk detected it as a physical drive. when I plugged the 2TB drive into my laptop, it kept sounding like it was trying to run. I put my 2TB drive that failed into that enclosure. it's not disconnected and the lights haven't gone out, so it was for sure the external enclosure. I placed the old drive in a new enclosure to serve as my 'backup' drive. I keep the hdd on at all times like I do with my 360 external drive, and thus far there's no issue. btw, I tested out the new drive after fixing the old one with testdisk. it's the cluster size that's not being read correctly on later versions. have u ever had this problem or an hdd enclosure fail on u? I don't know what my options r at this point if file recovery doesn't work.

it showed up as 'normal.' I ask u mostly because u work with soft modding the ps2 with an hdd connected. do u or anyone know a way I can recover these files? has anyone used ustealth on their virtual Wii drive? I did open ustealth to see if the drive was hidden. I plan to format the drive after I extract every file from it. anyway, partition recovery didn't work, so now I'm on to file recovery which will take over 8 hours. my nintendont games and saves r safe since I put them on the sd card in order to avoid the error if two drives r plugged in at the same time. I have 1000 games on the drive along with my emuNAND for wiiware/virtual console games. my only other option would be to format which I'm not doing. anyway, I had forgotten that I had ustealthed the drive, and I went straight to partition recovery.

it will ask u to format the drive and reset if the drive is on normally, but ustealth hides the drive from the Wii U so u don't get nagged with the formatting screen.

I used ustealth on the drive a while back to ensure the drive was only accessible by the virtual Wii and not the Wii U. however, I now have unallocated memory showing up in disk management. before, with the original enclosure, the hdd wouldn't turn on.
